WHAT TO SEE IN MILAN

Milan is a city that offers a lot to residents as well as tourists.
There are so many things to do in Milan that probably you’d like to come back after your visit!

Below you can find some tips and information so you can tour the city in total freedom.

FAST SIGHTSEEING!
Duomo Cathedral - Vittorio Emanuele Gallery - La Scala Theatre - San Babila - Fashion District If you just have a little time to tour around, Take metro line 3 (yellow) and go to the Duomo. Take a stroll through the shops in Vittorio Emanuele Gallery while following for the Scala Theatre. Then go back and walk through Corso Vittorio Emanuele and its shops and bars to reach Piazza San Babila, Via Montenapoleone is right around the corner!
SHOPPING IN MILAN
Porta Venezia District - Central District - Fashion District Take the metro line 1 (red) and get off in Porta Venezia. Enjoy shopping in Corso Buenos Aires, one of the most important and famous shopping streets in Milan for high street shopping. Then take a stroll to San Babila and visit the fashion District beginning in Via Montenapoleone, the place to be if you look for haute couture and luxury fashion.
MONUMENTAL CEMETERY
The Cimitero Monumentale is more than just a cemetery. The sheer number of sculptures and monuments that were built for the tombs of Milan's rich and famous has turned the cemetery into a quite impressive open-air museum. The sheer number of different works of art by often highly acclaimed artists resulted in an interesting open-air museum, where visitors are easily overwhelmed by the large number of monumental mausoleums and sculptures. Take metro line 5 (purple) and get off at Monumentale stop.
TRAVEL WITH CHILDREN
Sforzesco Castle - Museum of Science and Technology . Santa Maria delle Grazie Church - Da Vinci Last Supper Take metro line 1 (red) and get off in Cairoli. Take a look at the castle and enjoy the many museum it hosts. Then take a stroll to the Museum of Science and Technology, Walk (8 minutes) to Church Santa Maria delle Grazie to see Da Vinci painting Last Supper. where on weekends are organized events and workshops for children.
VISIT SAN SIRO
Don't miss the opportunity to visit the San Siro stadium and the Casa Milan museum, on a self-guided tour. Take the underground line 5 (purple) and get off at the San Siro stop.
MILAN FOR ART LOVERS
Brera District - Brera Museum - Navigli District If you love art go to Brera District (metro line 2 stop Lanza) and enjoy visiting the “Pinacoteca di Brera” (Brera Museum). Then take the metro line 2 (green) get off at Porta Genova, to go to the Navigli rivers. This area is a way to see a different Milan! So, you can see an artistic and beautiful area of Milan called “Navigli “. Walking on the towpath of the “Naviglio Grande” you will encounter a bustling and a bit bohemian neighbourhood: the courtyards that inter-connect in a maze of little alleyways and streets are home to art galleries, antique dealers and bookshops, crowded with trendy restaurants, boutiques and ethnic markets. Visit the Brera art gallery for free every first Sunday of every month.

DESIGN WEEK
Explore the Città Studi District which hosts various events and initiatives during the Fuori Salone, the famous event held to coincide with the international furniture exhibition, that are always very popular.
APERITIVO HAPPY HOUR IN MILAN
Enjoy an Aperitivo or dinner on a boat on the Navigli rivers! metro line 2 (green) Porta Genova stop. A must-do in Milan is a night on the “Corso Como” metro line 2 (green) Garibaldi stop. In summertime the best place to be for Aperitivo is Columns of San Lorenzo metro line 2 (green) Sant’Ambrogio stop. Check out the Birrificio Lambrate in Città Studi District, the oldest micro-brewery in the city, is a great spot for a beer.

Visit via Tortona during the fashion week and enjoy the Atmosphere, among stylish crowds and inspired designers.
STREET MARKETS IN MILAN
Visit the antique street market on the Navigli rivers every last Sunday of every month. If you like second hand and vintage clothes, visit the Senigallia street market every Saturday on Navigli rivers. If you love fashion don’t miss out the street market in Viale Papiniano every Saturday, there you will find brand names at fantastic prices.
LOOK FOR THE BULL!!
Inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, located on the ground within an octagonal floor pattern, there is a tiled mosaic depicting a bull which is reared up onto his hind legs. The tradition is that if a person puts their right heel on the bull’s testicular region and “turn on himself three times,” which is to actually rotate backwards, or counterclockwise, this will bring good luck!
